Mary Jackson Boucher began blending her interest in health, science and psychology in her undergraduate training. She received a bachelor of science in General Science, with additional coursework in psychology from OSU, in 1991. After graduation, she worked doing research and development at Synthetech; synthesizing synthetic amino acids for drug companies. After realizing a deep desire to work with people, she found National College of Naturopathic Medicine, and her calling to become a naturopathic doctor.
She graduated from NCNM in 1998, with a four-year doctorate in family medicine, and a special certification in natural childbirth/midwifery, After graduation, she completed a one year residency program at NCNM's teaching clinic in Portland, Oregon. She began her private practice in Corvallis in 2000. Her focus was primarily women's health and pediatrics. Her patients reminded her daily of the healing power of the body, and the deep healing that comes with integrating the mind, body and spirit.
Since the birth of her daughter in 2006, Dr. Boucher has chosen to be an at-home parent, and delightfully relishes mamahood. She will (and does) continue to do the work she loves, although not currently in the same, formal way. She loves teaching others about health, balance, the wisdom of nature, and well being. She loves gardening, cooking, knitting, hiking, yoga, travel, exploring our deep connectedness and her sweet family.
